High Street spending was down on last year before Christmas, then the sales kicked in and many stores have reported takings were 15% higher than a year ago. So are we still in recession, or heading towards a second?
Well the news over the christmas recess has suggested we are heading for another recession, so now is an excellent time to bag a bargain. Work is generally quieter in the first two months of the year, so orders placed now may be better value than those placed in March or April.
More worringly however, we have already been told of two window companies that have ceased trading today! Whilst that is obviously a major blow to them and the staff they empoloyeed, it is also a reminder to homeowners to ensure depoists are properly insured until the work starts or is completed. Just like booking holidays through non ABTA companies, ordering windows without the backing of an insurance policy, the GGF or DGCOS would be a nonsense, leaving you exposed should the worst happen.
Always check on web sites to ensure companies claims are valid, they do belong to the organisations they claim. Do ask for DeposIBG’s Insurance Backed Guarantees
